Dr. Anay M. Abraham has over 25 years of experience positively impacting and changing communities through education, leadership, and nonprofit advocacy. Throughout her career, Anay has developed and led client engagement, advising executives and school leaders in public, private, charter, and independent schools nationally, including in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Ohio.
Her vast experience includes executive advisory roles at Leading Edge, a nationwide after-school program, where she consulted on a range of strategic, organizational, and leadership issues. While at Springboard, Anay also led new business development initiatives, streamlined operations, an accomplishment that was later duplicated nationwide, and created the professional development curriculum for the organization.
Her experience also extends to the nonprofit sector, where she served as a Founding Consultant in community outreach, partnership relations with community-based organizations, and student recruitment for The SEED Public Boarding Charter School of Miami. She also served during year one on the SEED School Improvement Committee.
As a champion for education for all, Dr. Abraham is deeply committed to educational excellence and equitable opportunity for all students and has spent years working with individuals from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Her passion for advocacy led her to serve as the Director of Government Relations and Development for The WOW Center, an Adult Day Training Center in Miami.
Building on this work, Dr. Abraham pursued her belief in the power of education and community support to help every child reach their potential by serving as the Managing Director of Development & External Relations at City Year Miami. City Year is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to closing opportunity gaps in high-need schools by supporting students’ academic achievement and social-emotional development while strengthening school culture and climate.
Following her tenure at City Year, Dr. Abraham served as the Executive Director of Casa Familia, where she led the development and advancement of the first affordable housing community in South Florida dedicated to creating safe, affordable and sustainable housing; with features, amenities and services designed to benefit adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Other related disabilities. In this role, she has driven transformative impact by addressing critical needs at the intersection of housing stability, independence, dignity, and long-term community inclusion for individuals with special needs and their families.
In addition to her executive leadership roles, Dr. Abraham has contributed to higher education and community leadership through board service. She is a former Trustee for Miami Dade College and currently serves on the Miami Dade College Foundation Board and as a Board of Director for Team Miami. She remains actively involved in initiatives supporting the special needs community, with a focus on affordable housing, employment, and inclusive opportunities.
Dr. Abraham is a Miami, Florida native. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University, a Master’s degree in Education from Regent University, and a Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
