Sandra Bermudez is the Founder and CEO of The Lucy Project and the mother of Lucy, whose experience shaped the organization’s purpose. She holds graduate degrees from NYU and Teachers College, Columbia University, and has more than two decades of senior management experience. She built The Lucy Project from concept into a functioning literacy organization operating across multiple schools, summer programs, after-school programs, professional development for teachers, and large-scale convenings such as Unlocking Literacy Conferences and theLiteracy Leadership Forum. Her work centers on structured literacy, systems design, organizational growth, and the development of strategic partnerships that support high-impact, scalable implementation.
