Stephen Shelley joined Farm Share as Chief Operating Officer in 2016 and was promoted to CEO in 2019. Under his leadership, Farm Share has grown significantly, nearly quadrupling its annual food distribution from 33 million to over 125 million pounds and expanding its regional warehouses from three to eight. The organization now serves over 98 million meals annually and holds more than 800 community food distributions statewide each year.
Stephen has been instrumental in enhancing Farm Share’s Community Policing and Crime Prevention Program and positioning the organization as a leader in disaster response. Notable efforts include distributing over 2 million pounds of food and supplies within 13 days of Hurricanes Irma and Michael, and distributing over 10 million pounds of food monthly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A dedicated community leader, Stephen served on the Homestead City Council for 12 years, including roles as Councilman, Vice Mayor, and Mayor.
